Finding Your Personal Style

I'm gonna show you a little secret of mine....

I love collecting magazines!!! (fashion magazines in particular) You can leave me inside Powerbooks for a whole day and I will never get bored reading their Fashion books and magazines. Whenever, I'm at the mall...I make sure to always visit National Bookstore before I go home otherwise, I will feel sad and incomplete:( Locally, I collect Preview, Meg, Cosmopolitan and Good Housekeeping while for the international ones, I collect Vogue, Bazaar and Elle. Of course the practical side of me nagged my conscience to death and won me over haha...now, I no longer buy the international glossies for practical reasons. I just drop by Powerbooks every now and then to read their public copies for free. Not bad for additional savings ayt?? Moving on to my title, finding one's personal style can be tasking and here's a tip on how I found mine :)

Whenever I see a style that interests me, I cut it out and paste it on my special fashion notebook. Sometimes, if I like the article, I tear out the page and put them inside my clearbook. Later on, when I'm on a fashion rut phase or when I'm feeling too lazy to dress up...I browse my ever reliable notebook to get some inspiration and motivation. Eventually, this practice was able to help me find my own style too. How??? By now, I bet you'd be asking :) Simple...I observed what's the common item on my clippings. This would be blazers, cardigans and jackets. Next would be shorts in denim, silk and assorted prints. Last would be accessories like bags, hats, shades and shoes. From there, I was able to conclude this: blazers+shorts+heels+bags = smart casual. This is the look that I can most relate to. I've aways wanted an effortlessly chic look...like how the Parisial ladies do it. They are sexy, classic and elegant at the same time.

Once you find your preferred style/look...your next agenda would be how to own it. Owning a look means finding your trademark piece. It can be through an accessory or just by tweaking the look a bit to suit your personality. In my case, I love rings and blazers. Since, I sometimes get bored from the classic black and white look of the Parisian chic...I inject colors every now and then. My favorite blazer as of the moment would be the red boyfriend blazer I purchased from Zara a year ago. The fit, boldness and quality is excellent and it still looks good as new :) Meanwhile, when I'm feeling adventurous, I browse Facebook and buy blazers from some of my favorite online shops. For blazers, I recommend Sabrina - love how clean and precise their work is. I bought a floral suit from them before which I'm very excited to share with you as soon as I start with my new job ;)

I hope I was able to share something relevant here. Btw, Typhoon Maring is really something!!! I hope all of you are safe and sound. Let's continue to pray for all the people affected by this calamity and should you wish to donate pls. refer to this list

Take care everyone!!!
